SUMO in action

Explore our living garden

SUMO4Schools Primary makes a genuine positive difference and in many instances is quite literally life-changing. Promoting positive behaviour, developing creativity, thinking and learning skills, building self-awareness and self-belief, managing feelings and developing emotional intelligence, inspiring confidence, raising aspirations, creating possibilities - SUMO4Schools releases potential and delivers Skills for Life.

But while SUMO4Schools is practical and powerful, it is also serious fun. The training and materials are designed by experts and professionals to be accessible and entertaining. At its heart SUMO strives to create a classroom experience that is memorable and meaningful for teachers and children alike.

Some of the schools we work with have really taken SUMO to heart and have adopted the SUMO philosophy as an integral part of day-to-day life in the classroom. We consider these SUMO flagship schools to be excellent examples of what SUMO can achieve in empowering children and teachers alike:

The SUMO programme is based around powerful and memorable SUMO principles - listen to what these KS1 and KS2 children from Lower Peover Primary School have to say about their favourite SUMO principle and how this has helped them in school and at home:

Read an article featured on the TES website about how the SUMO4Schools principles are making a difference to Primary School Children.

All the SUMO lessons are designed to be interactive and creative, to stimulate and engage. Below you can see some of the colourful output from recent SUMO sessions from schools in Cheshire, or visit the Straits Primary School Dudley website for information on their recent SUMO creative learning days.

SUMO Success

SUMO success! What people say…

We are all aware of some the challenges that face many of the children in our schools and despite our best efforts, we as educators still know that we fall short when it comes to preparing them for the unknown. After attending one of the taster days on the SUMO programme I could see that the self development techniques covered in the programme would have huge potential benefits for the staff, children and parents at my school. The staff are using it in their everyday teaching to help children to deal with everyday issues, events and learning habits. I can already see how the children have started to embrace the concepts of SUMO.
The school financial commitment is very reasonable but the benefits in terms of emotional, social and physical development and skills are priceless. I would urge you to see what it can do for the well being of your school and its community.
